Happy Early Birthday Rue!

As a child I always felt bad for the kids whose birthdays were in the summer.  Their moms never brought cupcakes to school and they rarely seemed to have birthday parties where the whole class came to celebrate.  This was probably because in the middle of the summer there is not usually a class for them to invite.  When we welcomed our little Rue into the family on July 19, 2008 I made her a promise that this would never be the case for her.
This past school year was her first year of preschool.  It ended on Thursday, June 14th.  I kept my promise to her and invited her whole class to an early birthday party for her (little did I know when I booked the party that it was graduation and Father's Day weekend.  Oops!).
We had so much fun planning together.  I researched different party options, we browsed themes online but ultimately left the decisions up to her.  The results????  Princesses?  Fairies? A large warehouse venue with numerous bounce houses?  Nooooooooo!!!  Not for my little lady.  Miss. Rue decided on a Hello Kitty themed party at our favorite local martial arts school where her big sister Magoo is currently an orange belt.
All of the kids seemed to have had a blast.  Most importantly Rue had the birthday "exactly like she wanted".  Unfortunately I did not take many pictures and the ones I did take were not all that great.  Luckily Master Greg did an awesome job capturing the day and made us this keepsake video.  Thanks Master Greg and happy early 4th birthday little Rue!!  Not to worry, much more celebrating to come next month!
