A few years ago, nearly four to be exact. I started blogging on
What's on Mommy's Mind. At the time I was teaching part time, mothering my sweet little 3 year old daughter full time and pregnant with my younger daughter. For me blogging was a hobby, a way of making connections with other moms when so many of my friends hadn't yet entered the Land of Mommyhood and a way of journaling so many random pieces of information that were flowing through my head.
Slowly I felt like my blog became a chore. I was having trouble coming up with anything interesting to blog about and before I knew it I was just posting pictures of my daughters just to say I posted for the day. Before I knew it I started going a week without blogging, then a month and now looking back it has been nearly six months since my last post.
During that time I left teaching, my babies grew into two amazing little girls and I went back to school to become an RN. School is now over, I'm preparing for my boards and looking for my next adventure in life. This brought me back around to blogging again. I've missed the friends that I made, I missed sharing the craziness that is life with 2 young children and a HUGE 160 lb. dog (did I forget to mention him?) so here I am again.
So why Rue Magoo (yes there is a reason for this bizarre name) instead of
What's on Mommy's Mind? For me it is like when I was a child and got a new box of crayons. Sure the old ones still colored but a new box with all the wrappers still on and points perfect were so much better. Sure I could have started posting again on the old sight but I wanted something shiny, something new. A blog that although will probably be mostly about being a Mommy will include more than just what's on the mind of a mom.
